As part of its first year's initiative, the company released an album of natural sounds recorded in-house in Japan's national parks and announced the results of a study into the relaxation effects of natural sounds.

On December 21, 2023, Della Co., Ltd. entered into the National Park Official Partnership, a program in which the Ministry of the Environment and companies cooperate to promote the appeal of national parks to the world and increase the number of people using national parks both domestically and internationally.

■ Communicating about the appeal of the sounds of national parks and their health benefits

In this program, Della Co., Ltd. will utilize the natural sounds that have been recorded in national parks across Japan to spread the appeal of "sound" and will continue to record the natural sounds of national parks. In addition, as a long-established healing music label, we will utilize the know-how we have cultivated to verify the effects of sound on the mind and body to investigate and disseminate the various effects that natural sounds have on our mind and body.

■An album of natural sounds recorded in-house in national parks was released digitally on December 21st . As part of our efforts in the first year of our official partnership with national parks, on December 21st we released an album of natural sounds recorded in-house in national parks, "Nature Sound Symphony - Natural sounds from national parks that will lead you to relaxation," digitally to both domestic and international audiences.

This album is a re-edited version of the music previously released on CD or digitally by Dela Co., Ltd., and features the natural sounds of 12 national parks across Japan. From Shiretoko National Park, the easternmost national park in Japan, to Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park, the westernmost, the album features the diversity of nature.

■The relaxation effects of natural sounds were examined under the supervision of Professor Taki Yasuyuki of the Tohoku University Institute of Development, Aging and Cancer Using tracks from the above-mentioned album, "Nature Sound Symphony - Natural sounds from national parks that lead to relaxation," Sound Wellness Lab, a research institute within Della Inc., conducted an investigation into the relaxation effects of natural sounds under the supervision of Yasuyuki Taki, professor at the Tohoku University Institute of Development, Aging and Cancer and director of the Tohoku University Smart Aging Interdisciplinary Research Center, with the cooperation of CyberneX Inc., a braintech startup that aims to realize a society that relies on the utilization of brain information.

In this test, 10 healthy adults ( 7 men and 3 women ) aged 20 to 58 were used as subjects, and changes in relaxation levels before and after listening to nature sounds were investigated using an earphone-type EEG measuring device ( XHOLOS ) developed by CyberneX Inc., its analysis tool (α Relax Analyzer ), and the TDMS-ST psychological test, which measures two-dimensional mood scales. The results showed that listening to nature sounds increased the average relaxation score for 80 % of the subjects, and the stability of the relaxation level indicated in the psychological test increased, indicating that listening to nature sounds may have a relaxing effect on many people.

Numerous studies in recent years have shown that being in nature can relax the mind and body. This is said to be due to the effects of the various natural sights we can see and the "fluctuations" in the sounds found in nature. In this study, we tested whether listening to natural sounds is truly effective in relaxing the mind and body. The results showed that 80 % of the subjects experienced an increase in emotional stability, and 70 % experienced an increase in comfort. In this way, natural environments have many effects that appeal to our five senses, and it has become clear that listening to natural sounds is also useful for relaxation. We hope to further elucidate the usefulness of natural environments in the future.
