Tokyo Metro has announced that it will begin a trial run of background music broadcasting on Hibiya Line 13000 series trains during select daytime service from Monday, January 29, 2018, with the aim of creating a more comfortable interior space.

The following songs by Healing Plaza (Dela Co., Ltd.) are used as background music on this train.

This song was designed and produced as a support tool for relieving fatigue, helping to prevent and reduce the accumulation of fatigue.

The music was produced under the supervision of a fatigue medicine expert, and after undergoing mood measurement surveys and verification tests of physiological indicators such as the autonomic nervous system, the "healing and relaxing effects" of music have been proven.

This music is based on sounds that evoke nature, such as birdsong and the babbling of a stream, and gives a sense of freedom like taking a deep breath in the forest while feeling the swaying of the wind, a comforting melody like being in a warm sunlit spot, and is a pleasant sensation for both the ears and the soul.

We hope that we can help make your time on the train more comfortable.

In addition, the results of research using the CD "Music for Relieving Fatigue" were published in the international academic journal "Frontiers in Neuroscience" (March 10, 2017), and a press release was made by the joint development group, RIKEN and Osaka City University.
