"Tearful Detox Reading: "Seven Letters and Me""
■New content: reading aloud, music, and mental health care.
This work was planned and produced as new content aimed at mental health care, featuring narration by popular and talented voice actors and music written specifically for the work.
■Supervised by Hiroki Terai, the creator of "Namida-katsu," focusing on the detoxifying effects of tears.
Today's society is said to be one of stress. A survey (individual survey) of workers conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in 2022 revealed that 82.2% of respondents felt strong anxiety, worries, and stress. Now that we have overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, the benefits of crying as one of the initial ways to deal with this stress are attracting renewed attention.
It is said that when you empathize with a story in a movie, drama, music, sport, etc. and shed tears, the excited state of the sympathetic nervous system is instantly shifted to a state where the parasympathetic nervous system is dominant, resulting in a refreshing and calm feeling. This work focuses on these benefits of tears and was produced under the supervision of Hiroki Terai, who came up with the idea of "namikatsu," an activity in which stress is relieved by consciously crying, and has written numerous books on tears.
■'Me and Seven Letters' is a moving story based on a true story that has resonated with many people.
It is said that tears that bring various benefits come from "empathy" linked to one's own experiences, and it can be said that the reason "people become more tearful as they get older" is because they have accumulated many experiences that allow them to empathize. While what makes people empathize varies from person to person, the story "Seven Letters with Me" that will be read aloud in this production is a work that centers around "love for family" and "love for animals," which many people have experienced in real life. It is a moving story based on a true story by Hiroki Terai that has been developed into various content such as books, plays, and readings, and has gained a lot of sympathy.

The reading of this work was done by Yui Ishikawa, a voice actress with excellent acting skills who has played important roles in numerous popular works, including the role of Mikasa Ackerman in the anime "Attack on Titan," Violet Evergarden in "Violet Evergarden," and 2B in "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a."
■The music is by Yuriko Toda, who has worked on numerous TV drama soundtracks.

Writer and creator of "Namidakatsu." Originally from Kobe, he started "Namidakatsu" in January 2013. Utilizing his track record of bringing tears to approximately 30,000 people to date, he produces tear-jerking films, books, music, and dramatic readings. He has written many books, including "Miraculous Stories That Help You Realize What's Important in Life" (Kanki Publishing), "How to Releasing Stress with Namidakatsu" (Shufunotomosha), "The Art of Crying" (PHP Institute), "Cry and Lose Weight! Namidakatsu Diet" (Makino Publishing), and the picture book "Namidaroid" (Tatsumi Publishing).
