Is mom's hydration the key?
Tips for a comfortable breastfeeding life in the summer

Summers are getting hotter every year, and mothers and babies raising children are exhausted.
It is said that for mothers who exclusively breastfeed, the daily calorie intake is 700 kcal, regardless of the season.
Breastfeeding is similar to donating blood.
Since breast milk is made from blood, it may not be wrong to say that it is like donating blood every day.
To help you get through this summer, there are a few things you can keep in mind so that you can breastfeed without draining your energy.
Drink plenty of water frequently
It is said that an adult needs 2 liters of water per day.
During breastfeeding, we recommend that you consume twice that amount, approximately 4 liters.

You might think that 4 liters is too much to drink, but if you drink it regularly, it's actually quite doable.
It is recommended to drink one glass of water before feeding and one glass after feeding.
If you have a good milk supply, make sure to drink plenty of fluids while breastfeeding.
Water and barley tea are good, but nutritious vegetable juices and smoothies, caffeine-free rooibos tea, and herbal teas that promote breast milk production are also good options.

If you don't drink enough water, dehydration can lead to heatstroke.
A decrease in urine output also increases the risk of cystitis.
Get into the habit of drinking fluids frequently before you feel thirsty and prepare for the summer.
Make breastfeeding life more comfortable

The temperature on a midsummer day exceeds 30°C.
The body temperature of babies and mothers is 36.5 to 37.0 degrees Celsius, and the milk and breast milk that babies drink is also at roughly the same temperature.
I often break out in beads of sweat after just one feeding.
It's a good idea to use arm covers on the mother's arms while holding the baby, or to place a sweat-absorbing towel on the baby's back to prevent sweat. You can also use a fan on low power.
Try to find ways to make breastfeeding as comfortable as possible, even when you have several times a day.

We also recommend this to help you have a more comfortable breastfeeding experience.
