[Aroma] You can make it at home!
How to make aromatherapy massage oil

I want to relax with a massage while being enveloped in the aroma of aromatherapy.

But do you think that massages using aromatic oils can only be done at beauty salons or spas?

Making massage oil is actually very easy! We'll teach you how to make aromatherapy massage oil at home!

You only need three things to make it!

If you think it would be difficult to prepare various ingredients to make aromatherapy massage oil, you're very wrong.

All you need is the following three things:

  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) of carrier oil
  • 6 drops of essential oil
  • storage container

We recommend using glass storage containers, preferably light-blocking ones.

Also, essential oils may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin or allergies, so be sure to do a patch test beforehand.

Mix 1 drop of essential oil with 1 teaspoon (5ml) of carrier oil and apply a small amount to the inside of your arm for 24-48 hours.

If you experience any skin irritation, discontinue use of that essential oil.

What is a carrier oil?

Essential oils are also called essential oils or pure oils.

By the way, do you know what a carrier oil is? Essential oils are very strong and cannot be applied directly to the skin, so they are diluted with oil for aromatherapy massage. This oil is called a carrier oil.

However, this does not mean that any oil will do, such as baby oil or olive oil that you might find in your kitchen. Aromatherapy massage oils are made with oils that are gentle on the skin, spread easily, and are easily absorbed.

The following three oils are recommended for aromatherapy massage beginners.

  • Sweet Almond: Smooth and comfortable on the skin
  • Jojoba oil: Long-lasting and highly moisturizing
  • Grapeseed oil: Refreshing feeling

Please choose according to your preference.

Now, let's move on to how to make it.

Now let's actually make it!

Once you have the ingredients and a storage container ready, and are okay with doing a patch test, it's time to get started! It's super easy!

First, pour the carrier oil into a storage container.

Then add the essential oils and stir well with a bamboo skewer.

Unlike commercially available massage oils, the finished product does not contain preservatives, so be sure to use it up as soon as possible.

If you want to extend shelf life, sterilize the glass container by boiling it.

Put water and a glass container in a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

If you put a glass container into boiling water, it may break, so be sure to put it in when it is still water.

Things to be careful of when using aroma massage oil

As mentioned in the recipe section, homemade aromatherapy massage oil cannot be stored for long periods of time, so try to use it up within one month.

It's very easy to make, so I recommend making it whenever you want to use it.

If you want to store it, keep it in a cool, dark place.

Also, when massaging, it is more effective to warm up your skin beforehand by taking a bath or using a hot towel.

Use half to one teaspoon of oil at a time, warm it between your hands, and then massage it in.

The trick to a good massage is to relax your palms and move with your elbows.

Massage time with music

[Aromatherapy] Make it at home! How to make aromatherapy massage oil

It's easy to make, so you'll want to make aromatherapy a part of your daily routine.

During such a relaxing moment, you'll want to play soothing background music like you'd find at a beauty salon.

The aroma oil is a lavender-based blend of sweet and spicy marjoram and the forest scent of cedarwood. It is especially recommended for use before bed.

An aroma massage with Hawaiian healing music from the popular album " Relax & Sleep ~ Hawaii " playing in the background will make you feel like you're at a resort spa.

Relaxing time enjoying the senses of smell and hearing

Aromatherapy and music go very well together.

Of our five senses, the sense of smell, which detects scents, and the sense of hearing, which detects music, are close to the brain, so by sensing both scents and music at the same time, the healing effect is doubled.

When you want to relax with an aromatherapy massage, be sure to enjoy some of the soothing sounds we've introduced as background music.
