This album contains 13 original songs (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13) by composer, arranger and saxophonist Kobayashi Yohei, who was born and raised in a town with a sea view, plus classic songs related to the sea.
The accompanying booklet (CD only) contains an original essay written by the artist along with soothing photographs.

"When you're on your way home in life, I've always wondered why you suddenly want to go to a place with a view of the ocean.
The scenery where the sky and sea meet captures your heart. The gentle sound of the waves penetrates deeply into your soul. The scent of the sea awakens precious memories in your heart. When you spend time surrounded by these things, your doubts disappear and you feel like you can remember what is truly important to you.
The sea is such an irreplaceable place for me. I have carefully woven together the feelings and emotions I have had growing up in a town with a beautiful sea view. The sad yet gentle tones and melodies played by instruments such as the saxophone, guitar, and piano seem to bring to mind the ever-changing face of the sea. Even from the comfort of my own room, I felt as if I was drifting leisurely along the gentle waves. I use it not only for relaxation, but also as background music when I'm concentrating on work.

Listening to Kobayashi's album at the end of the day brings positive emotions to my heart. It's as if the events of the day are appearing as images in my mind. Just as each scene in a movie is important, it teaches me that everything that happened today is valuable. When I listen to it during difficult times, it calms me down by reminding me that "there are moments like that in life," and I felt it was truly the ultimate album. Working with Kobayashi, I am always amazed by his vast worldview. He never pushes the boundaries of expression, but instead gives a sense of space and freedom. I feel like I've finally come to understand a little bit about what that space truly is.

Yohei Kobayashi has also worked as an arranger on the game I'm responsible for, fully incorporating his incredible sensibility and talent into my humble original compositions. His music, sometimes bold and sometimes delicate, clearly reflects his gentle and sincere side. His newly released album, "Seaside Relaxation," evokes a variety of scenes. From the dawn-inspired opening track "Mada Minu Hi" (Until the End of the World), to the tranquil yet warm "The Sea Has No Memories," it's as if you're spending a day at the seaside. His cosmic perspective, inspired by his astrophysics training, can be felt in each track (my personal favorite is "Sora Takaku," which begins with an intro that sounds like seabirds flapping before your eyes on a refreshing breeze). I look forward to seeing more of Kobayashi's work in the future, as he continues to achieve even greater success.
