The classic songs from Ghibli films, loved by everyone from children to adults, are covered using two instruments: the marimba, a wooden percussion instrument, and the vibraphone, a steel percussion instrument.
Being surrounded by the nostalgic, soft sounds makes you feel warm and comfortable, like being in a sunny spot!
This wonderful acoustic space is created by Mallet Pit, a young and talented up-and-coming brother duo.
A "mallet" is a stick that is held when playing the marimba.
"Pit" comes from the orchestra pit, and contains the meaning of wanting the mallets to fight each other like brothers (x).
The name also evokes the "pit" of a car race, a hobby shared by the two, and apparently includes the meaning of "a place to return to = home." The Ghibli melody was performed carefully, note by note, without compromising the image of the original song.
Just like opening a photo album, you might be overwhelmed with bittersweet memories and long to meet someone special!
