One day, Kumehachi of Kobo was having dinner with a regular customer at Tsuruya. After relieving himself in the toilet and feeling the night breeze, he noticed a man sneak into the storeroom behind the house. "That's Sanzo the Tame Horse. Could he be staying here and stealing?" he thought, as a thief, and had a bad feeling about it. To Kumehachi, Sanzo the Tame Horse was a thief he could never forget, no matter how much he tried. A mistake in his youth had led to the death of Sanzo's wife. Even so, Sanzo did not blame Kumehachi. "This time, I must repay Sanzo's kindness..." Kumehachi thought, trying to stop Sanzo from stealing on his own, but... Sanzo's purpose was not actually to steal. At the cost of his life, the truth hidden in the tragic relationship between Sanzo and Kumehachi was revealed. And so they parted ways forever.
