Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture Occupational Safety and Health Seminar for Workers Mental Health Concert "Iya"
Lecture by Professor Haruyoshi Yamamoto

Healing seminars and concerts held to promote mental health among workers in Japan

Della Inc., a healing label that is gentle on the mind and body, has been requested by Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, one of Japan's leading industrial cities, to hold an occupational safety and health seminar for workers called "Mental Health♪Concert "Healing"".

Suicide, which is the leading cause of death among men in their 40s and 50s who are in the prime of their working lives, has a huge impact on society and families and has become a social problem throughout the country.

The overwhelming majority of suicides are caused by depression, and it is said that sleep disorders appear as a precursor to depression.

This event is the first of its kind in the country, and allows participants to experience for themselves how listening to music, which is said to be effective in preventing depression and improving sleep disorders, is far more effective than listening to music alone, after gaining knowledge about the relationship between depression and sleep and how to prevent depression through a seminar.

The organizer, Fuji City, began a project in 2006 to prevent depression by improving sleep (Fuji Model Project), and as part of its efforts to become the best in Japan for mental health, they commissioned our company, a pioneer in producing music for sleep, to organize this event.

We plan to hold similar seminars and concerts across the country in response to the needs of local governments.

□ What is the Fuji Model Project?

Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, one of Japan's leading industrial cities, has been focusing on the relationship between sleep and suicide since 2006 as part of its efforts to prevent depression and suicide among working-age men. The project aims to detect depression early and prevent suicide through collaboration between Fuji City, family doctors, and industrial physicians.

Through campaigns such as "Dad, are you sleeping well?", the government encourages people to feel free to consult their family doctor first, and has launched a scheme in which family doctors and psychiatrists work together to prevent suicide by detecting depression early, with the aim of achieving the best mental health in Japan for working people.
